About speedtest.doctor
A next-generation speed test with real connection diagnostics on self-hosted api.speedtest.doctor — not simulated results.
Most speed tests stop at the measurement. You're left with three figures and no idea what to do with them. speedtest.doctor runs real tests on our own infrastructure at api.speedtest.doctor, then diagnoses your line — verdict, likely causes, and concrete fixes.
Why "doctor"?
Because measuring is the easy part. The value is in the reading: knowing that "high latency under load" means bufferbloat, that bufferbloat usually means a router without smart queueing, and that the fix might be a single setting. That's what a good doctor does — interpret the symptoms and tell you what comes next. We bring that to your connection, in plain English.
What we stand for
Diagnose, don't just measure
Every result should end with an answer — a verdict, the likely cause and what to do next.
Show our work
We publish how each metric is measured and what its margins are. No black boxes.
Fast on purpose
A site about speed has no business being slow. Pages ship as static HTML with near-zero JavaScript.
Respect your data
No account needed for a basic test, and we don't sell results. Ads load only after consent.
Trust & transparency
Credibility is the product. We document exactly how each metric is measured on our measurement method page, you never need an account to run a basic test, and any product recommendations carry a clear affiliate disclosure.
